McCain not qualified for President?

By lawscorner

General Wesley Clark is accusing Senator McCain as unqualified for President because he, McCain, has not had “executive responsibility” .  He does not have the qualifications for Commander-in-Chief because he has not had “command” experience.

Mr. Clark, and others, need to be reminded that the qualification criteria for President is in Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution.  It says:No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a Resident within the United States.  There is more, but this covers McCain’s and Obama’s qualifications to run for President of these United States.

Either Mr. Clark is deliberately attempting to mislead the American people or he is speaking because of his ignorance of the Constitutiion is totally unacceptable.  One: lying to the public to gain power illegally or two; not understanding the job description laid out in the Constitution.  In either case no one should act upon his “advice” nor should he hold any office in the Federal Government because his integrity is in question.  Actually, from his last attempt at public office, we know he is a liar and he does not deserve our attention, nor should his comments be considered as legitimate.  Period.

One Response to “McCain not qualified for President?”

  1. Marc Says:

If you had actually seen the entire interview you would have realized what Clark was arguing was that his time in the military did not apply as command experience, so those arguing he had the command experience which made him a better choice on national security matters, were wrong.

Clark essentially said that while McCain’s service was heroic, it was heroism of personal experience, not leadership.

I agree with Clark to that end, however, McCain does have more education in military matters than Obama, obviously. After his release from Hanoi he did still serve in the military for a period of time, even if it was as a laison to the Senate. More of a political\military education than military, but still, more than Obamas.
