As I said previously, the high price of fuel for autos and trucks and recent flooding that ruined a large percentage of our annual crop iare the reasons for Dramatic Increases in food prices and imposed restrictions on how much of certain staples you can buy.

Have you noticed that since Pres. Bush repealed the Executive Order prohibiting offshore drilling, the price of a barrel of crude oil dropped from $147.00+ per barrel to $134.50 per barrel today.  I wonder if the cost of diesel and gas will drop as dramatically?

Why are we importing about 70% of our oil ?  We won WWII because we had access to natural resources from countries not inimical to the US and we had our own oil resources.  We were not dependent upon countries which hate and despise us and our way of life.  What would have been the outcome of that war if 70% or our oil came from the axis powers?

Why are we sending $700 billion dollars per year to people who are not friendly?  just in Alaska alone there is enough coal to power our country for more than 200 years.  On the 19 million acres in ANWR only 2000 acrees would be required for drilling  there.  Don’t worry about the caribou; the Porcupine caribou herd has quadrupled in size since the pipeline and drilling started in the north.  The herd did not decline despite what environmentalists were telling you and congress.

What could we do if that 700 billion per year stayed in this country?  Think about it.

If you’re tired of high food prices, milk and eggs and bread all costing over $4, you need to either call, write or email your congressional and senate representatives.  Tell them to get off their ***** and start drilling.  Don’t believe anyone when they say that it will take 10 years before we see any results.  They said that in 1995 when pres. clinton vetod the ANWR bill.  If it was approved, we would have been on line two years ago.

DRILL NOW, DRILL HERE, PAY LESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

McCain not qualified for President?

June 30, 2008 by lawscorner

General Wesley Clark is accusing Senator McCain as unqualified for President because he, McCain, has not had “executive responsibility” .  He does not have the qualifications for Commander-in-Chief because he has not had “command” experience.

Mr. Clark, and others, need to be reminded that the qualification criteria for President is in Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution.  It says:No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a Resident within the United States.  There is more, but this covers McCain’s and Obama’s qualifications to run for President of these United States.

Either Mr. Clark is deliberately attempting to mislead the American people or he is speaking because of his ignorance of the Constitutiion is totally unacceptable.  One: lying to the public to gain power illegally or two; not understanding the job description laid out in the Constitution.  In either case no one should act upon his “advice” nor should he hold any office in the Federal Government because his integrity is in question.  Actually, from his last attempt at public office, we know he is a liar and he does not deserve our attention, nor should his comments be considered as legitimate.  Period.

Are Banks Hurting Business?

June 29, 2008 by lawscorner

Some businesses are complaining to their representatives that credit card companies are charging them rates that are hurting but the representatives are listening!  Does this sound familiar?  It does but with one difference; the representatives are listening and intend to do something about it.  Shame on those banks for charging their business clients more money.

When was the last time that you called, emailed, or sent via USPS, a complaint to your representative and he/she really tried to actually help you with the bloodsuckers?  I mean to lower your exorbitant interest rate, which can change in a flash!  I know of one person who had a zero percentage rate one month and the following month was charged 210%  I thought this usury was totally illegal.  Of course no help was forthcoming; he was just a sticky-fingered banker’s cash cow.  Do you feel cold, clammy fingers on your udders?

I’m not saying that it’s time for the pitchforks and torches but it may be a very good idea to keep them close by.

We the People

June 16, 2008 by lawscorner

“Government is too big and too important to be left to the politicians.” - Chester Bowles

What We the People do is periodically vote representatives to work in our best interests and welfare.  We then forget about our duly elected representatives and go about our lives; not periodically watching them as they need to be watched and supervised.  Letting politicians loose without supervision is like letting a kid in a candy store letting him stuff his pockets and mouth with all manner of good tasting but bad for him delicacies.  A parent would not do that to a child because it would or could be viewed as child abuse.

Why then would We the People let our duly elected “representatives” loose into the D.C. candy store?  Yes, they are working very hard.  Hard indeed, and much of the time, in the dark where no one can see them stuffing their pockets and mouths with delicacies only found in Washington; money, sex, and power.  They only do We the People’s work when We catch them at their game and deluge them with calls and mail and visits.  But, when we think all is ok, they try to do a sneak thief trick and get into the back door!

I do recommend that We the People have a Constitutional referendum to stop these abuses by limiting their abuses to only two non-consecutive terms.  Also, since our government is supposed to be a Constitutional Republic that Socialism, in all its deviant forms, be outlawed in this country.  Socialism does not fit well with our type of government and is only an intermediate stop between freedom and communism.  If you don’t believe this , I will enlighten you with their own words in the very near future.

He’s NOT Smarter than a Fifth Grader

June 4, 2008 by lawscorner

Barack H. Obama scares me again.  He didn’t know that there are only 50 states in the Union.  Should he not know that?  If he doesn’t know that than what is he doing running for President of these United States?  I hate pandering and lying.  His “uncle” liberated Auschwitz during WWII.  The Russians did dopey! Not the USA.

Wait!  He may be right about 57 states afterall.  If you include Canada and Mexico when we convert to the North American Union in 2010, then add the Central American countries of Guatamala, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, and Nicaragua, that is 57 states.  We will become the largest fourth world country in the world.  We’ll be able to live off of the EU, and India, Russia and China.  You know, all those countries that we have been feeding and financing for the last 60 years.

Happy trails United States of America, as we ride off into the ghetto.

Congress’ Stupidity

May 20, 2008 by lawscorner

So the House of (our) Representatives passed legislation to sue OPEC, apparently for not increasing production and therefore lowering prices.  Hey Congress, how stupid can you get!!  Yes, OPEC is a foreign cartel of oil producers and do business in the U.S.  Can you force OPEC producing sovereign nations to comply with our anti-trust laws.  I seriously doubt that.  If you try to sue OPEC countries, all they have to do is stop doing business with the U.S; immediately.  Guess what happens then.  What I would do would be to stop selling oil to the U.S.  I’d sell to China and India and the EU.  US laws would no longer apply.  Yes, the price would drop some because the US is no longer able to buy oil, but after the economic disaster in this country, no country dependent upon OPEC oil would dare to challenge them again for a long time.

Think about this Americans.  No more than 40%  is available from the previous 100%.  60% is purchased from foreign sources.  Are you willing to see the transportation system come to a halt?  How about the severest gas rationing ever?  Food prices would skyrocket geometrically. Food rationing would follow.  Starvation hurts.  Oh yes, what about power generation and heating for the winter.  Reading by candlelignt is not romantic, it sucks!!!  A lot of people would die because of the cold.  Jobs disapear.  Homes are lost.  People are evicted into the street.  This is going to hurt a lot.

It is time that our non-representative government , at least all the congress and senate, is replaced immediately by real people.  I do not mean nor advocate violent measures.  I abhor violence.  As long as the real people qualify, and the gualifications are spelled out in the Constitution, they can be elected by you.  Hold elections, elect congressmen and senators, then go to Washington with them and install them in the congress and senate.  Kick all the current crop out.  Hold a Constitutional referendum limited to changing the term lengths and number of terms only to be voted upon.  I suggest no more than two terms, each term no longer than six years, and no consecutive terms.  Also no federal pensions because they will not serve long enough to earn them.

We the People have Powers that are not given to the government, either state or federal.  Let’s use these Powers and use them now.

Islam/s True Face, no. 1

May 13, 2008 by lawscorner

Recently,  I have observed what appears to be a creeping islamization of the western world.  They are building new mosques and schools;some partially or fully funded by  US taxpayer money.  I thought this was totally against the Constitution.  There may be a concerted effort on Islam’s part to stretch their tentacles into every day life here and elsewhere.  Some incidents are definitely not part of an agenda but individual decisions on a muslim’s part to force us to comply with Sharia Law.  Let me just regurgitate a few incidents from around the world.  If someone likes I can list dozens of incidents revealing a pattern of behavior that should make all of us very afraid.

a.  Foot basins for Muslim cabbies in an Airport and universities.

b.  Saudis silence writer’s book critical of Saudi Arabia supporting terrorism through charities and madrassahs worldwide.

c.  We cannot establish churches in Jeddah or Riyadh but Saudis can open mosques and madrassahs in London, New York, and anywhere in the US.

d.  A UK dentist told patient to wear a head scarf or go to another dentist.  This, at a time when there were over 4000 people who could not find a dentist to take them.  Dental care is part of the National Health Service (their Universal Health Care System).

e.  Christians fleeing from Iraq because of death threats.

f.  Three people working the the Christian Zirve publishing house in Malatya, Turkey were tied up then tortured, then killed.  One person was stabbed 150 times.

g.  A Somali student threatened to kill another student’s service dog.  The student took his dog and left school before his training was completed.  The school would rather see an American give up his right to education than expel a foreign student and send him back to his own world.

I think it is time that the US, including our representatives, finally wise up.  Lockdown our borders, using military if necessary; start getting smart about allowing mosques and madrassahs anywhere they wish without restrictions and without taxpayer funds, and complying with US law, not sharia law.  Our businesses and government agencies need to enforce US law; but first they need to acquire some cojones.  It is obvious that some would prefer to appease than stand up.  I think if this trend continues you may want to start learning Arabic now!

Starving for Gas

April 27, 2008 by lawscorner

The World Health Organization (WHO) and other International and US Federal Agencies are getting concerned about food shortages.  Many say that the possible food crisis appears to be caused by the inevitable rise in overall prices from the increased cost of crude oil and fuels.  In the US I’m sure much of the rise in oil prices are the result of the rapidly falling dollar on the world markets.  Since the world economy is tied to the dollar, a downward spiraling dollar will result in drastically increased prices in the US because it takes more dollars to buy the same product/service than  it did prior to the fall.

But the largest concern now that peoples’ and nations’ eyes are being opened is the increase in food products which has been caused by diverting  acreage, once devoted to food production, for the production of ethanol and bio-fuels.  Twenty percent of the US corn production now goes to ethanol production , and rising corn prices for those dependent on it for food.   Mexicans are paying more for corn flour to make tortillas and other foodstuffs.  Thank you Mr. Al Gore.  Why didn’t he get the Science Nobel Prize if everything he spouts is the Gospel according to Gore instead of the Peace prize.  Does he not know that nations have gone to war over food???  When you’re starving, your people just want you to get more food and don’t care how you get it for them.

When cost of oil goes higher still and many people begin to freeze, and can’t pay for heating, what do you think they want the government to do?  I am getting very afraid that if we in the US do not wake up and put the environmentalists on the sidelines, we will have astronomical food and oil prices, and people will begin to starve and freeze.  We do not need to suffer this.  In just Alaska alone, there is enough coal to provide all of our current and future power needs for at least two hundred years.

Forget ethanol and other biofuels until someone can prove that the amount of energy to produce such fuels is equal to or greater than the amount of energy required to produce them!  Presently, ethanol is a non-starter in this area.

Get angry people.  Force those rascals in Washington D.C. to do the right thing and not the expedient thing to buy votes to keep themselves in power.  They are not working for us but only for themselves.  Throw them out, now.  Start a recall for all offenders who are not doing the will of We the People.  That’s who we are We the People not We the Sheeple!

Bill Maher’s half wit or half right

April 20, 2008 by lawscorner

Bill Maher’s comments about Catholicism being a cult, according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, is accurate.  Catholicism is a formal religious veneration (worship of a divine being); a system of religious beliefs and rituals.  It can also be used as a great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement or work, not reaching the status of Worship.

However, I believe, based upon previous ranting and railings of Maher’s that he was not describing the first definition of worshipping a devine God, but meant it in a derogatory way.  That same definition applies to every other religion; Baptists, methodists, Islam, Jewish, etc

Calling the Pope a Nazi without proof that the Pope was a card-carrying member of the Nazi political party is slander.  Put up or shut up Bill!  The stories and rumours that the Pope belonged to the Hitler Jugend (Hitler Youth Organization) is most probably correct.  As of January 1939, Germany made it compulsary to belong to the Hitler Jugend and in many cases children were conscripted into the group. The Pope was 12 years old then.  When you were 12 could you stand up to the Nazi regime and say no sir, I’m burning my card!  In 1943 all Hitler Jugend were used from then on solely for anti-aircraft duty.  The Pope was 16 then.

Thoughts on Islam

April 11, 2008 by lawscorner

First, a correction on the previous post on Geneva Convention Protections:  1.  Cpl Maupin was a PFC when captured, but was automatically promoted during his supposed prisoner of war status to SSgt.  2.  He was apparently captured in April 2004, not October of 2004.  3.  No other corrections.

Winston Churchill had some thoughts on Islam and its impact on western civilization.  Remember , this was written over one hundred years ago by a man who, at the very least, was able to see where the world was going in the 1930’s  and what the appeasers were insuring would happen.

I’m sure some people will only see what they want to see and pick out that which offends them and to accuse this writer of saying or doing something which is not accurate, true, or honest.  Why do I bring Churchill’s  thoughts on this subject at this time?  Because it appears that at least some thinkers have recognized radical Islam for what it is-a danger to every man, woman and child in the world who is not, nor will convert to, Islam.  Some of us even today do not believe what they are telling us they wish to do.    When you stick your head in the sand, you leave our enemies with a large and juicy target!  We need to wake up.

Winston Churchill on Islam - In 1899

“…Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy.  The effects are apparent in many countries.  Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.

A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement, the next of its dignity and sanctity.

The fact that in Mohammedan (read Sharia, my insert) law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual moslems may show splendid qualities - but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.

No stronger retrograde force exists in the world.  Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith.  It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of mogern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.”
